Skin Lesion Removal
Skin lesions come in many different forms, such as moles, skin tags, cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratosis, actinic keratosis, lipoma cysts, warts, and other skin growths. The Dermatologist has a few different methods of removing these lesions depending on the type of growth it is and where it is located. First the Doctor will determine if an injection of lidocaine is necessary based on the type of lesion he will be removing, next it is either removed with surgical scissors, by freezing with liquid nitrogen, shaved with a surgical blade or removed electrosurgically with a hyfrecator. The process is usually quick with minimal to no discomfort.
Skin Cancer Screening
Our dermatologist provides full body screening for skin cancer. This process involves a scan starting at the top of your head to the bottoms of your feet. The Doctor looks for anything abnormal in size, color, and texture. It is a good idea to get a skin cancer screening if you have noticed an unusual lesion or mole that has changed or you have a family or personal history of skin cancer.
Medical Grade Chemical Peels
We offer stronger medical grade chemical peels such as TCA- trichloroacetic acid and glycolic acid. A consultation with the Dermatologist is needed to determine which peel is right for you
Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy (AHA) which is derived from certain plants and fruits. Glycolic peels in the medical grade strength treat specific skin issues such as facial wrinkles and fine lines as well as age spots, uneven skin tone, sun damage and acne inflammation. It dissolves the top layer of skin leaving you bright, glowing and renewed. With our medical grade glycolic peel you will have visible peeling which lasts from 5-7 days.
TCA peels remove the top layers of your skin in order for new cells to regenerate. Your old skin peels or sheds revealing a smoother more even surface and tone. The shedding process lasts from 3-5 days. TCA peels treat sun damage, facial lines and wrinkles, acne scars, uneven pigmentation, and age or dark spots
Antibiotics not only decrease infection but are a good anti-inflammatory which means your skin will be calmer and less red. If you suffer from chronic or cystic acne the Dermatologist can prescribe antibiotics or other medication to help control it. During a consultation, the Doctor will determine if you are a candidate for antibiotics based on your skin condition.
